The 1st and 8th of May are on a Saturday this year so no extended bank holiday. No 'bridges' this year as they say in French...
Despite the lack of bridges in France this May, walkers, riders and other users of the pathways around Coatelan were motivated in April and decided bridge as many gaps as they could. The 15th and 16th of May, the riders will extend their limits at the Coatélan event and 'faire le pont'

Une météo bien capricieuse a accompagné les concurrents des trois épreuves d'endurance courues à Coatélan ce week end. Soleil, nuageux, venté, pluvieux à certains moments, une alternance des saisons qui n'entachait en rien la satisfaction de Nolwen Jézequel gagnante de la 100 km CEI* devant Vincent Auffret qui montait Jackson Armor.

The thirty six competitors were having a break at the end of the afternoon after bib distribution. Tomorrow at 7am, riders and steeds will 'head south' on the red trail and take on the circuit concocted by JB. The second stage, orange, will lead them north west, the third, a blue run,, North East. The last 25 kilomteres with green arrows goes round in a lovely figure of 8, south of Coatélan.

The French inscriptions on the CEI* and CEI** are published today. We are still waiting for confirmation from other countries. After that, the amateur elite list and the start can be given. The circuit is ready, the velue is being prepared: hay and straw were delivered this evening...

Irritation of the evolution of the regulations, multiplication of catagories, economic gloom...
Coatélan isn't in recession. There were 41 participants on the five 90km proposed Saturday. At the end of Sunday afternoon, the CREEF and the animation comitee at coatélan congratulated themselves on ranking 168 of the weekend's 185 candidates. A reassuring opening to the season.

Coatélan awoke in the mist this morning, the eve's storms had somewhat dampened the grounds. 24 competitors on the CEI, 30 on the CEN, crossed the starting line at 7 o'clock this morning.
3:55pm five competitors arrive for a double sprint... Patricia Marquet ahead of Jean-René Laousse then Jean-Yves Le Brun and Rose Marie Talibart ahead of Jack Bégaud, verdict at the outcome of the final verifications. |
6:00pm The first 33 rankings are revealed. 7:09pm, the final rankings are online.

| For the last race of the season, Coatélan gathered 170 participants and ranked 143 competitors: 33/50 on the 90 km - 18/20 on the 60 km - 40/43 on the 40 km - 27/29 on the 20 km and 25/28 on the 20 km initiation. |

La saison d'endurance en Finistère débutait ce matin à Coatélan avec une bonne trentaine de cavaliers sur la 90 km. Et ce soir, dans les derniers km ils étaient cinq prétendants à la victoire. Un premier sprint attribuait la victoire à Jean-Michel Baron devant Claudie Lefebvre. Trente secondes plus tard, Franck Coquer et Yolina s'emparaient de la troisième place devant Gilles Penfornis et Antonius Verkerk.

Au petit jour ce matin, ce matin Coatélan se préparait pour le dernier week-end d'endurance de la saison. Au programme une 90 km CEN** forte de 41 concurrents aujourd'hui, et à suivre demain, des régionales avec plus de 140 partants.

L'an passé 52 concurrents se disputaient la première édition des 120 km de Coatélan. Cette année, Gaétane de l'Arrée la gagnante de l'an passé, sera à nouveau sur le circuit, mais elle a décidé de changer de cavalier. C'est à Rose Marie Talibart qu'il revient de défendre le titre.
18 cavaliers présents l'an passé, sont à nouveau inscrits et 8 d'entre-eux avec le même cheval ! Pierre Ollivier, second l'an passé ne suit pas cette tactique. Samedi, il défendra ses chances avec Kloee de Notre Dame. Et Jack Bégaud, troisième l'an passé - enrichi il y a peu du titre de champion de France - fait lui, une nouvelle fois confiance à Faral d'Alauze pour emporter l'épreuve.

Nous venons de regarder les résultats et les photos de Coatélan, cela nous a fait plaisir de voir que tout s'est très bien passé, le temps était confortable, pas comme l'année dernière, et certainement une grande organisation comme à chaque fois chez JEAN ANDRE, que nous saluons au passage.

Je les ai croisés sur les chemins , ils allaient d'un bon train, le regard lointain, l'air serein et apaisé mais déterminé et volontaire : les centaures. Voici ce que j'ai ramené avec mon boitier à l'ancienne, d'un dimanche à Coatélan sur la piste des endurants...

118 départs donnés dimanche à Coatélan. La journée a débuté à 9h00 par le départ des douzes cavaliers de la nationale. Ils ont ouvert une piste d'excellente qualité, même si l'organisateur a du en remanier le tracé au dernier moment. Un peu plus de goudron en ce début février, pour éviter quelques passages jugés trop boueux en fond de vallon. |
